Athletic Trainers / Athletic Therapists are health care professionals who manage and rehabilitate injuries that result from physical activity and sport. Athletic Trainers / Athletic Therapists can be found almost anywhere people are physically active, including secondary schools, colleges and universities, Olympic sports, professional sports, industrial and commercial settings, sports medicine clinics, hospitals, private practice and the military. As part of a complete health care team, Athletic Trainers / Athletic Therapists work in cooperation with other health care providers such as physicians, physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, athletic administrators and coaches.
